Climb for the Grieving Kids
On July 12 of 2025, Angel Bear's Founder, Stella, successfully summited Mount Rainier, the tallest mountain in Washington State, at 14,411 feet of elevation — for Angel Bear Nonprofit's Climb for the Grieving Kids Summer 2025 Campaign.
The Summer 2025 Climb for the Grieving Kids Campaign:
🌟 Donated $1,700 to Experience Camp, a one week grief camp that Carroll's kids have participated in for 9 years
🌟 Donated stuffed animals to Experience Camp for campers to take home with them

Dear Summer 2025 Campaign Contributor,
My dad, Carroll Vogel, summited Mount Rainier many times throughout his life. He had a deep love for the mountain, so much so, that at one point, he led restoration work at Camp Muir, the base camp that sits at 10,000 feet. Rainier wasn’t just a peak to him. It was sacred ground, and a place that reflected his own spirit and immeasurable magic.
July 5th, 2025, marks 15 years since my dad passed away. In honoring that milestone, I felt called to return to the mountain that meant so much to him, and explore what it means to me.
My upcoming summit attempt is more than just a physical challenge. It’s a tribute to my father, and a celebration of the love of life that we share, regardless of death that separates us. I am sure I will feel him on my shoulder every step of the way.
Climb for the Grieving Kids is an extension of the work I do through Angel Bear Nonprofit, which I founded to support other grieving children like I once was, and at times, still am.
As I attempt to climb toward the summit, I will carry my dad’s memory with me, along with the mission to bring comfort to children navigating loss. Every foot I gain, every donation raised, brings us closer to placing comfort into the arms of a grieving child.
This climb is personal. It's purposeful. And I’m so grateful to have your support along the way.
With gratitude,
Stella Vogel
